Magic Class with Rebecca, (how time flies ... see below).
I was born in Digby, Nova Scotia in 1946, dad was a fisherman, and so I grew up in the country and "on the water".
I attended Digby Regional High School and graduated in 1964. I graduated from Nova Scotia Teachers' College in 1972.
I taught Science for grades 4 to 6 and the Driver Education Program for the High School. I first started using magic to motivate my students and have been performing magic ever since. I was a Safety Educational Officer, with the Registry of Motor Vehicles from 1975 until 1995. This enabled me to instruct thousands of school children (over 75 schools per year) and instruct hundreds of adults in training programs. I was very lucky to be able to use my love of magic and perform on a daily basis. I estimate that I have shared magic with over thirty thousand students each year for twenty years, that's well over half a million people. Wow!
The first magic club I attended was in the basement of Robert Lamar's parents home. What we lacked in talent and knowledge we more than made up for with our love of magic. The club made a number of changes over the years and with the work and dedicated efforts of Robert Lamar has morphed into the Conjurers' Court. Thanks Robert.
I feel very privileged to have been able to make so many magical friends over the years. Robert Lamar, Doug Creamer, Terry Hearn, Walter Hopkins, John Talbot, Clifford Saulnier, Rod Doiron, Bill VanGorder, Jeff Collins, Russ Demont, Dr. Merv Shaw, David MacFarlane, Ian Stewart, Dave Moon, Richard Bonner, Lynn Crowell, Elaine Cole, Dr. Mark Sadler, Don Faith, Luke O'Hearn, Phil Wilkinson, Nigel Harrison, Mike Gillis, Danny Hachey, Michael James, and Bill Wood. These are some of the names that come to mind, I know there are many others.
We have a wonderful group of dedicated magicians in our club, many varied interests scanning the scope of magic. We have professional magicians who travel the world, like my very close friend Jeff Collins, a busker, magician and world class juggler. And members that only perform for their close friends at home or at work. The one thing we all have in common is our love of magic. The club does all it can to foster this love.
Teaching an "old" friend (Rebecca) some magic.
